One of our young participants, Louis, has been getting to grips with a mallet and chisel to shape the keel of our first St Ayles Skiff.
Louis has been involved in boat building projects with Faversham Creek Trust at the Purifier in Faversham for the last four years, ably assisted by his Dad, Jamie, and is now hoping to find an apprenticeship when he leaves school in the next year or two.
The work on the keel is approaching completion and we are delighted that we’ll be able to turn the boat on Saturday 10 October at the Purifier at 3pm. Join us if you’re able to a socially-distance view of progress! (Dress appropriately for the weather as there may be queuing/observation from outside.
